All puppies are sold on contract, with a lifetime takeback policy,
no Kyrie Bangkaew should ever end up in rescue or worse, they are
always welcome back if your situation changes. All companion puppies
are sold with limited registration and a spay/neuter contract. The
ongoing health of this breed is very important to us and a $100.00
refund is given for OFA hip certification, $25.00 for OFA patella
certification and $25.00 for eye clearence from a caninie opthamologist
at 2 years of age. We will be happy to help locate a qualified veterinarian
in your area.
Our Philosophy-
At Kyrie we feel every breeding we do is a great responsibility. With
the Bangkaew we have the unique opportunity to try and avoid many
of the genetic issues that affect so many pure bred dogs. Only Bangkaew
sound of temperament and free of genetic defects will be bred. We
feel we owe it to the future generations of Bangkaew breeders to leave
as sound and healthy a gene pool as possible.
There is and never will be a perfect dog, but we strive to breed dogs
that conform as closely to the Standard as possible. To that end we
do not double up on weaknesses and breed strength to strength if at
all possible.
With the limited gene pool that exists in the US it would be easy
to justify breeding inferior dogs. We refuse to do that. So far 2
of the seven dogs we've imported have been removed from breeding consideration
and neutered for DQ conformation faults and/or unacceptable temperament.
When more foundation stock is needed to keep our gene pool healthy
we will travel back to Thailand and bring back more carefully chosen
adults. With the expenses incurred with importing these dogs it's
not worth importing puppies. We have found it better to acquire adults
with known temperament and conformation, the genetic testing can then
be done as soon as they are in the US.
What you need to know about buying a Thai Bangkaew-
All nessasery health checks should be done BEFORE the breeding
is done. The breeder should be familer with commom problems in the
breed and inform potential puppy buyers of them.
If you want a show quality/breeding quality dog, make sure the person
you buy from actively shows their dogs. If you don't show you are
usually less familer with the breed standard, general stucture, breed
type and movement.
